Not sure why trail cameras are set up this way. People say to put the sensor on high in hot weather so the hot air won't trigger it as easy, but that also means that it would be way harder for an animal to set it off. Never had this problem in the fall and winter because a warm animal easily triggered the camera in freezing temps.
The trail camera features an 18-piece high intensity infrared flash and motion/heat sensor with a 40-foot range so that you catch all the action-in any light conditions. The trail cameras use PIR sensors to take a photo of anything passing by the camera. With the drop in prices of trail cameras a lot of hunters are placing trail cameras along these roads and trails. Even tested it out in the house and on the low setting the camera sensor was triggered way easier. Red 4 Infrared Digital Scouting Camera, bungee cords, USB cable The Red 4 Infrared Digital Scouting Camera from Wild Game Innovations provides you with day and night eyes in the woods in a compact package. I live in a rural area with many trails and roads through the forest. Turns out the higher the sensitivity, the MORE heat and motion it takes to set it off. After realizing that the camera wasn't being triggered as easily, I did my research and figured out the problem. Cameras with a large PIR Angle can detect movement. Campark was founded in 2008 as an idea for creating a range of action camera, trail camera, dash camera ,security camera etc. I had it set on high because I thought that meant it wouldn't be hard for an animal to set it off. PIR stands for passive infrared, and PIR Angle refers to the degree that the camera can sense movement. You really do not have to set up the other modes, because they are not there, to begin with.
I always thought that if it was set on high, that it meant it took less motion and heat to set it off. With this knowledge, it is actually easier to set up a Wildgame Innovations Trail Camera because all you have to do is to purchase the model with the most features that you like. It can be adjusted to high, medium, or low. So on my Wildgame Innovations IR8X trail camera, just like many other cameras, there is a PIR sensor sensitivity adjustment option.
